I don't know what it was I said,
The words got broken in my head,
And didn't come out making sense.
I've been thinking these last few years,
Have I come around full circle here,
To find that square one disappeared.
These are days gone to the dogs,
A master plan of random thoughts,
Chalk this one up as a loss.
Those darker days weren't so easily replaced,
I made it through them anyway.
How far have I come? Looking back on all I've done,
What I've lost and what I've won.
Followed my heart to the west,
To make a future, not a mess,
Didn't work like that I guess.
As the years all fell away,
I told myself that it would be OK,
Well, what else could I say?
This is a life thrown to the wind,
Pick up the pieces and we'll start again,
I'm calling this a win.
